Waterloo Bridge, Cloudy Weather is one of a sub-series of paintings by Claude Monet under his larger 'London Series'. Inspired by the fog of the city during his time in exile as a result of the Franco-Prussian war, Monet returned in 1899 to paint a collection of 41 impressionist works in an effort to capture the unique interplay of buildings, light, and people under the effects of London's gloomy atmosphere.
