examination, whether for school-districts, AP College Board, the SAT, or the International Baccalaureate, the TI insists that an education in English Language Arts from Middle School to High School should mould a student into a capable writer, critical reader, and persuasive communicator for the rest of their lives, rather than in a school setting alone.

 

Education at this level is foundational to later refinement in college and at work. To ask of toturing to only provide a better grade is, therefore, a crime against the intellectual development of a student -- it must be asked to provide much more. As such, the TI believes that getting the fundamentals of English Language Arts precisely right is crucial to a student's higher academic and vocational success. To this end, our Tutoring Programme focuses on group instruction, where small teams of students collaborate on the critical analysis of landmark literary works, compete in the long-term development and consolidation of their vocabularies, and deliberate the application of core elements of theory in essay construction, persuasive writing, and oratory technique.

 

The principal outcome of tutelage under the TI is a rarely paralleled comfort with the English language in its totality; a confidence in one's public speaking, a certainty in one's mastery over composition, and a clarity in one's ability to read critically and understand even the most perplexing texts.

 

While we offer individual instruction and recognise its value for some students, we uphold the group method as a key element of not only education but socialisation, and therefore provide a host of research to empirically buttress the application of our methodology.​
